Once you’ve completed your training to become a DofE Assessor, you will need to get your DofE Assessor role affiliated (linked) to the Scouts, to be able to assess Scout DofE expeditions.
If you're in England, Wales or the Channel Islands, please complete the DofE Assessor Affiliation form or ask your County DofE Adviser to do it. You'll usually hear back from us within 2 - 3 weeks, but this could take longer during peak periods.
If you're in Scotland or Northern Ireland, please contact your Country office.
You will need to have a full Scout volunteer role (which does not include Group Occasional Helper), have a valid disclosure check, the relevant training or have the relevant technical competence. This is to fulfil safety and safeguarding requirements. More information can be found here.
You should have the relevant training required to support yourself on the type and level of expeditions you want to assess.
